Maurice Nicloux Award
The Maurice Nicloux Award commemorates the first president and founder of the French Society of Biological Chemistry, created in 1914, which became the French Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (SFBBM) in 1992.
Eligibility and selection criteria for the Maurice Nicloux Award
To recognize high-level scientific achievements, the Maurice Nicloux Award is presented annually by the SFBBM. It is open to Lecturers (Maîtres de Conférences), Research Associates (Chargés de Recherche), or equivalent positions, whose qualifications allow them to apply for promotion to Professor or Research Director, respectively. Candidates must have been SFBBM members for at least three consecutive years and are selected for either a body of work in Biochemistry and/or Molecular Biology or a particularly original and significant contribution in these fields.
The jury for the Maurice Nicloux Award is composed of members of the SFBBM Board of Directors.
The recipient of the Maurice Nicloux Award is honored during the SFBBM Annual Congress, where they receive the Maurice-Nicloux Medal and a €2,500 prize. On this occasion, the awardee delivers a lecture presenting their scientific work.
